The Rio Grande Valley Golden Retriever Club, Inc. (RGVGRC) was formed with the primary goal of improving the breed, especially in the Rio Grande Valley area. We accomplish this goal through informative meetings, and special events. Since our inception in 1981, our Club has expanded its scope to include activities and information for any level of interest from pet ownership to show handling. The Golden Retriever breed is almost totally unique in its multi-functional capabilities. Our dogs are used in such diverse areas as; shows (conformation), obedience work, field trials (hunting), tracking, guide dogs, and faithful pets and companions. The Club, through its many activities, helps members to know, raise, and train quality dogs. It is our members’ active participation that is improving the Golden Retriever breed in the Rio Grande Valley area.
